This type of hand-woven rug, known as a “jarapa”, comes from the area in and around Lorca in the southeast of Spain. It is a completely hand-crafted product made entirely of materials recycled from the textile industry, principally cotton.

The loom and traditional manufacturing methods were introduced by the Arabs in the 12th century and have been preserved by the craftsmen, with few modifications, until present day.

The “jarapas” are available in different sizes, designs and colours and add a pleasant sensation of warmth and comfort to any environment. Due to the nature of the manufacturing process, each hand-woven rug is a “one-off”, resulting in a unique product..
